Message Profile is finally up to date ( I think ) . My rebuilt IPP engine now has 700 miles and Iv been bothered by how my cas is not lined up in the middle so i started shooting my timing from all the different locations and finally I installed a high tension wire and confirmed what I didnt want to see . In order for me to get to 15 btdc I have to clock the cas all the way counter clockwise ( this was with the car warmed up , idle at 750 rpms . and my tps set to .44v ) I figured I was off a tooth somewhere from everything I'v read . I'm now on call 24/7 at work and have 15 min . to respond to surgery if there's an emergency so im limited on how dirty i can get . I bit the bullet and took it to nissan to reset the timing belt ( i hate seeing my car @ nissan ). I got a call from nissan saying the timing belt was dead on every mark so i drove over and looked for myself and it couldnt be more dead on . I inspected the cas and it had no wear marks , cam shaft ( new jwt 400+ ) still had the indicator and everything looks great .They put it all back together and the cas has to be all the way counter clockwise to achieve 15 btdc .
I deciced then to put the cas right in the middle and see if maybe the underdrive pulley was marked incorrect and just making me think the timing was off . with the cas in the middle the car started right up but ran sluggish almost as if it was fighting its self , so where do I go from here ? My base timing is 15 btdc ( with timing light shot at the correct angle 11 oclock and using a high tension wire ) and my ecu reads 15 btdc by consult but my cas has to be clocked all the way . the car seems to run good but I feel like somethings not right or that cas would be in the middle . This is not my old cas , this is a cas i bought from a member on here . I destroyed my old one .
Can a cas go bad or get uncalibrated in some way to cause this or is thiere something else ?
